GYROS

So am I the only who had never heard of a gyro before?

It's pronounced like EURO. I never got why certain words aren't pronounced like they are spelled. It just makes things more confusing and harder to remember.

This past Tuesday, as we finally exited I-4 and headed to the ford amphitheatre, it started pouring. We decided to wait it out for a bit and get something to eat. As we passed the fairgrounds, we saw the biggest line of cars and people...outside... in the pouring rain, waiting in line to get into the theatre. When we finally made our way to the parking lot, everything was so moist, and squishy. My husband, trying to catch up with me and my friend chelsea, went the wrong way and got stuck walking through a big puddle that was like 2 feet deep.

Before we got there, we really thought the concert would get cancelled. It was pouring non-stop for almost 2 hours. We drove around town, and our friend Erik fround a greek place. This is where I had my first Gyros (euro). It was actually really good, but it had way too much meat and it kept falling out of my pita bread. I liked that it had tomatoes, onions, and sour cream. Don't let the above picture deceive you, it's ginourmous in real life. I also decided to try their home made baklava. It's one of my favorite desserts and I am very picky about it. Not everyone knows how to make it just right, and well, I have to say that I was a bit dissapointed with this one, but the gyro made up for it :)

After all of us finished eating, it was still pouring, so we decided to find a walmart and buy some ponchos. Go figure that by the time we checked out and headed towards our car, it had stopped raining. We finally made it to the concert at 8:30ish, just in time for paramore to wrap things up and introduce NoDoubt, the real reason why we were there!

What a great little day it was :)
Tomorrow, I'll be posting a wedding I second shot two weeks ago. Be sure to look out for that in the evening.
Happy stormy thursday in Florida! :)
